You're Amazing

Here's a card I CASED recently, featuring the flower from the Best Thoughts stamp set and the "You're Amazing" greeting from the Watercolor Wishes stamp set. Also made use of the Pretty Print TIEF.  I'll be demonstrating this in my next workshop.
Here's a close up of the embossing which was done using the Versamark ink pad and white embossing powder. Once the image was stamped and embossed, it was just a case of water coloring the flower petals and the leaves and stem. Fussy cutting and layering using dimensionals. This is a very simply but effective card for someone amazing.

March Birthday Card Madness

The month of March this year has been a busy one for me.

Starting with our club workshop (see previous post).

There are quite a number of people celebrating birthdays in March, including myself. So I prepared a few birthday cards on hand.

This card was made using the Botanical Builders framelits die. So simply, yet effective. Thinking of who I can give it to.
This is the inside of the card.
The following 3 cards were for very good friend and members of my extended family. I was on a roll.
This one below was given to my sister's Mother-in-Law, who's still spritely at 83.
This colourful balloon stamped card below I gave to a friend who was my former Stampin' Up! upline. Her birthday was in February, but I didn't see her until March, saving on the postage.
And here is the inside - more balloons using the balloon punch

Mickey and Minnie Punched Birthday Card

My neice, Kaylene is currently in Orlando, Florida working at DisneyWorld, so for her birthday I made this card using various punches and new DSP. I think it turned out pretty well.  She received it one day before her birthday in the States, but in Australia, it was her birthday, so it looks like I timed it well when I posted it off to her, it took 2 weeks to get to her.  She was so surprised to receive a card from her family, but so happy that we were thinking of her and missing her.

Christmas Greetings

Whenever Christmas comes around, it gets so busy and hectic, that I never get to post the cards I make. This year I made several, some to send and some to give personally.  The ones to send, aren't as detailed or layered as the ones I give out in person, but they are all made with love.

Then there are the last minute ones, which my family members request for their friends.  Lucky I always have cards on standby.

Club SUM Workshop 27 January 2015

Tuesday 27 January

My first workshop of the year, I decided to make a card which I had seen demonstrated by Teneale Williams at the Party Time event.  The balloon swings like a pendulum via a mechanism hidden behind the front panel.  So simple, yet effective.

Materials Used from the 2015 Occasions Catalogue:
Celebrate Today stamp set
Butterfly Basics stamp set
Balloon Framelits Die
Cardstock
Dimensionals
The picture below shows the mechanism, which is virtually a folded piece of cardstock and a coin or heavy weight.
My other project used the following from the 2015 Occasions Catalogue:
Butterfly Basics stamp set
Butterflies Thinlits Dies
Painted Blooms DSP

Tip:  A trick I learnt at the Party Time event, use a dryer sheet with your dies to stop the paper getting stuck in your dies, they will stick to the dryer sheet instead. I found baking paper is also great, if you don't have any dryer sheets and you get a die cut that is translucent like vellum which you can use in other projects. Position the baking paper between the die and the cardstock.

Card in a Box

These cards are all the rage and are relatively easy to make.  Having seen some done by other demonstrators, I decided to tackle one for my Uncle and came up with this creation. He's turning 79 so I chomped out some numbers using my Big Shot, hand cut some cup cakes, macarons and greetings and decorated my card in a box.  Not sure if he understood the concept when he saw it.

Materials used:
Rich Razzleberry Cardstock
Whisper White Cardstock
Birthday Basics DSP
"Make a Wish" stamp from Perfect Pennants Stamp Set
Another Great Year Stamp Set
Island Indigo Marker
Rich Razzleberry Marker
Old Olive Marker
Crisp Cantaloupe Marker

I also made one for my friends son, who is turning 6 and is having a Ninjago birthday party.  I hope he likes it.

Club SUM Workshop 11 March 2014

I had been thinking that I would run my workshop as a dinner party..no food, but our projects would make up the menu, so I set about creating a menu.

On my menu, there would be an Appetiser, something small and easy to make. This was the Tag-alicious Topper Gift Tag.  Then the Main Course would be a card project using the Peachy Keen stamp set and On Film Framelits, followed by Dessert, which would make use of the Good as Gold SAB Simply Set Pack.

Then I sent out my invitations using the Celebration Basics Invitations two weeks before the workshop.

I set the table up as you would a dinner party and used my rescued frame to decorate the place.

As Easter is approaching, I made up some Monster hugs party favours with Malteser bunnies.

Flower Shop

Don't you just love this stamp set.  I've had this stamp set sitting in my cupboard and it's only now that I have decided to put it to use and I just love how the colours pop.

Using the Flower Shop stamp set and matching Pansy Punch, I made these cards in quick succession.

Club SUM Workshop 4 February 2014: Sue's Card Projects

These are the cards, my friend and fellow demonstrator, Sue demonstrated in February when I was away on holidays up the coast. The "Bee" card was pretty simply to put together, but the "Birthday" card was a lot more fiddly. I did adapt it by putting the string banner across the top instead of sticking it to the bottom front panel.

It's been a while...since I posted...

I've been taking a break, but in that time, I've been busy making cards using new products from the new seasonal catalogue as well as the Sale-A-Bration catalogue and incorporating stamps and designer paper from the main catalogue. So here are some of the cards I've been working on.
