So tonight we started making a 12 x 12 inch Christmas Sampler. We got through 8 of the squares and will do the other 8 on another night.

Club SUM Workshop 6 October 2015

It's been a while since I posted, so with this workshop looming, I pulled out the new Holiday Catalogue, my ipad and started searching for ideas on Pinterest. These cards were CASED, but not all items are from the new catalogue, as I found I could use some of my previously purchased items.

Club SUM Workshop 4 August 2015

One of my amazing demonstrators, Sue, held this workshop and had two fantastic projects for us to make.

Our first project used the Vintage Leaves stamp set with the co-ordinating Leaflets Framelits and the some of the delightful papers from the Bohemian DSP set.
The second project made use of the Watercolor Wings stamp set as well as the co-ordinating and more wonderful papers from the English Garden DSP set.

If you are reading this and would like to join our workshops, please drop us a line or leave a comment, we welcome all stampers, whether you're a beginner or have been stamping for a while.

Club SUM Workshop 7 July 2015

Tonight I had my Stampin' Up! ladies make two cards.

The first one is a male card.  I don't do many of these, but the Guy Greetings stamp set lends itself to some great male cards, including this one.

The second we made is a very nice floral card which can be used also for any occasion. Using aqua painters I watercoloured the flowers with Watermelon Wonder and Daffodil Delight.

This card lends itself to so many colour variations. Here's one I did using Marina Mist, for a blue version.

Club SUM Workshop 27 January 2015

Tuesday 27 January

My first workshop of the year, I decided to make a card which I had seen demonstrated by Teneale Williams at the Party Time event.  The balloon swings like a pendulum via a mechanism hidden behind the front panel.  So simple, yet effective.

Materials Used from the 2015 Occasions Catalogue:
Celebrate Today stamp set
Butterfly Basics stamp set
Balloon Framelits Die
Cardstock
Dimensionals
The picture below shows the mechanism, which is virtually a folded piece of cardstock and a coin or heavy weight.
My other project used the following from the 2015 Occasions Catalogue:
Butterfly Basics stamp set
Butterflies Thinlits Dies
Painted Blooms DSP

Tip:  A trick I learnt at the Party Time event, use a dryer sheet with your dies to stop the paper getting stuck in your dies, they will stick to the dryer sheet instead. I found baking paper is also great, if you don't have any dryer sheets and you get a die cut that is translucent like vellum which you can use in other projects. Position the baking paper between the die and the cardstock.

Club SUM Workshop 11 March 2014

I had been thinking that I would run my workshop as a dinner party..no food, but our projects would make up the menu, so I set about creating a menu.

On my menu, there would be an Appetiser, something small and easy to make. This was the Tag-alicious Topper Gift Tag.  Then the Main Course would be a card project using the Peachy Keen stamp set and On Film Framelits, followed by Dessert, which would make use of the Good as Gold SAB Simply Set Pack.

Then I sent out my invitations using the Celebration Basics Invitations two weeks before the workshop.

I set the table up as you would a dinner party and used my rescued frame to decorate the place.

As Easter is approaching, I made up some Monster hugs party favours with Malteser bunnies.

Take an old frame....

I found this frame on someone's front lawn ready for the local council cleanup collection and rescued it thinking I could use it one day.  It was just the frame, no backing, some of the ornate plaster work was chipped, but I thought with a little bit of work, I could make a rustic looking frame.  I didn't have to do much with it, just dusted it off. It was already painted silver, so I just touched up some of the areas which were scratched and added the backing board which I made using some cardboard from some Ikea packaging cut to size. I crumpled up some white tissue paper and then straightened it back out before glueing the tissue paper to the cardboard and gave it an extra coat of white paint. It turned out better than I had hoped for.
Then added some coloured banners, cards, felted balls and I had a very colourful display which I hung up for my Stampin' Up! workshop.

Club SUM Workshop 4 February 2014: Sue's Card Projects

These are the cards, my friend and fellow demonstrator, Sue demonstrated in February when I was away on holidays up the coast. The "Bee" card was pretty simply to put together, but the "Birthday" card was a lot more fiddly. I did adapt it by putting the string banner across the top instead of sticking it to the bottom front panel.

Club SUM Christmas Dinner 19 December 2012

This year we had a combined Christmas dinner and workshop. Following on from the success of last years Thai take out dinner, we again ordered from the same place and had our meal before getting stuck into a Christmas card project.

My sister, Lily was stuck with making the Fruit salad christmas tree which did not quite come out as I had pictured it. Next time, I'll need to prepare it the night before. Just too busy.

Club SUM Workshop 6 September 2011: Launch of New Catalogue

At our Stampin' Up! workshop on Tuesday night, we launched the new Idea Book and Catalogue and to celebrate I got the girls to make some paper shoes. I had made one shoe and their project was complete the other shoe, so that they had a pair. I used the shoes as a treat holder, so that each of my girls had a bag of chockies to take home as well as a pair of paper shoes. The shoes were made using Flirtatious Designer Series Paper, grosgrain ribbon and brads. Please see my earlier post for the shoe template. It was a challenge putting the shoes together, but in the end I think the girls were happy with their shoes.

Here is a photo of the girls with their finished creations.
