A New Addition!

Congratulations to one of my Stampin' Up! ladies, Emma and her husband Todd on their recent birth of a bouncing baby boy, Cooper.

Inspired by the halloween curvy keepsake boxes, I made a "Baby" box as a gift for Emma.  I hope she likes it. My lighting wasn't quite as I wanted it, but there was no time to take proper photos of it before my workshop.  Doesn't it look adorable?  They would make perfect additions to a baby shower.

Too early for Christmas?

The end of the year is drawing closer and Christmas will be here before you know it, so during a week off up in Port Macquarie, I took along some supplies and started working on my Christmas cards which I send to friends and family.

I've decided to use the Partridge and Pears Stamp Set along with some of the new Blendabilities as well as some coloured markers.

I also got my Club SUM ladies to make a Christmas card using this stamp set and will post a pic of the card when I get some time.

To Halloween or Not?

Here in Australia, Halloween is not quite as big as it is in the States, but I do like the cool characters and fun that is associated with Halloween, such as dressing up and the treats, so for a workshop I just held, I made some cool looking curvy boxes featuring some of the more easily recognisable characters, filled with chocolate treats to give as a goodie bag.
Having come across these designs in Pinterest, I decided I would try my hand at making some of them, so I give credit to all those before me, especially Darla Watson, who posted and shared their creations on Pinterest.
I did adapt some as well, but they are all made using the Curvy Keepsake Box
Thinlits Die and a variety of Stampin' Up! punches and cardstock as well as some left over yarn.
I added a "Good to the Last Bite" tag from the Merry Everything stamp set with some ribbon to finish off the gift boxes. And here they are with the Halloween chocolate Lindt delights.  It looks like the "Mummy" is eyeing the chocolate.

3D Flowers and Box Cards

Yes...more box cards...I've been busy making a lot of 3D flowers and have adapted the Poinsettia christmas box card.

I have 2 very close friends who are celebrating their birthdays quite close to one another, so it's so much easier to make 2 cards than 1, but I got carried away when cutting the flowers and I'm hoping to use the left over flowers in a window box display or maybe a floral wreath, we'll see if I get around to it.

Here's a piano box card I made for a very close friend's birthday - she plays the piano.

Christmas Box Cards

I am so loving my Silhouette Cameo and the files I get from SVGcuts.

After coming back from Sue's Christmas workshop, I finished off my Christmas wreath and started working on the Christmas box cards from SVGcuts.

So loving them.

I've found out a way to use my surplus cardstock and Stampin' Up! designer paper.

Looking forward to making more cards.

So What's New????

Project LIFE scrapbooking materials. Stampin' Up! have teamed up with Becky Higgins, the creator of Project Life to release a complete line of easy to use scrapbooking products. Becky explains, "It's called Project LIFE because it's about YOUR LIFE. Whatever your life is. Whatever your stage of life. Whatever your family circumstances. Whatever your lifestyle. Project Life is designed to help anyone and everyone get their pictures into a book." In a nutshell, it's all about spending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.
Stampin' Up! is excited to announce that one of their most exciting new products, Stampin' Blendabilities Markers, are now available. These exclusive alcohol-based marker sets, come in a 3-pack of light, medium and dark shades (of the same colour), and provide your projects a more saturated look with blended colours. We recommend using Stampin' Up! Whisper White Cardstock with your Stampin' Up! Blendabilities, but any one of the cardstocks would work just as well.

Photopolymer Stamps. Stampin' Up!s top-quality photopolymer stamps have just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time. They're entirely transparent for perfect image placement, and they adhere well to our clear acrylic blocks (blocks sold separately).
Also some other news:

We have extended the sales period for the 2013 holiday catalogue carryover items. They will be available (while supplies last) until 27 August! So, you can do some early shopping for the upcoming festive season.

Retiring Lists for 2013-14

While waiting for the new catalogue to come out, here are the lists of retiring products from the 2013-14 catalogue.

SVGcuts Teapot, Cup and Saucer

For our latest workshop, I decided we'd make the teapot from the Tea for Two set from SVGcuts, using Stampin' Up! Gingham Garden DSP and coloured cardstock.

Before we made the teapot though, we made a box card using the same DSP.   I thought the teapot would be an easy project for them to complete, but it turned out to be more of a challenge.  Some of the ladies followed instructions and took meticulous care, while others, thought they were doing it right, but somehow ended up with teapots that had a lot of character.  It took longer than I expected and we didn't finish our workshop until after 10.30pm...the latest I've ever done.  There was a cup and saucer to do as well but I will have the ladies do that at the next workshop.

Photopolymer the next big thing.

Stampin' Up! have searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And they've found it!

I'm excited to announce that with the release of the upcoming 2014-2015 Annual Catalogue, Stampin' Up! will have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps. The top-quality photopolymer stamps stick extremely well on the existing acrylic blocks, are durable, and the transparent nature of these sets makes it easier to line up your images without the need of a guide. This is a feature that is particularly helpful with alphabets, borders, and backgrounds! Photopolymer is clearly a great choice.
