Market Day at Epping and Point Clare

It's been a very busy and hectic week, getting things ready in preparation for market day. So busy that I didn't get a chance to take photos of my many goodies that I made.

On Friday 12 November, my friend and upline, Emily manned a stall at the Epping Night Markets. It's my first time to display there and so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was very busy on the night and even though we were inside a hall, the foot traffic came in and sales of items were promising. All my chocolate tree trimmings and chocolate boxed gift cards sold, as well as my milk cartons filled with assorted chocolates. Must say..chocolates equal sales. Only sold a few cards on the night.

Point Clare Markets and some of the goodies for sale
On Saturday 13 November, the day after, it was an early start, although I did sleep in after staying up till 1am in the morning making more goodies, as most had sold the night before. It was a very hot day, and not too many people were interested in the Christmas cards and goodies we had on offer. But it was nice being outdoors with friends, having fish and chips for lunch and and snow cone to cool down and just having a day out in the fresh air.

Last workshop for the year

Display of cards and Christmas special
Had the last workshop/club for the year and challenged the group with 2 intricate projects. For the first project we made a trifold birthday card using the On a Pedestal & Party this Way stamp sets and Celebrations designer paper. For details pics, go to my gallery.
Busy crafting

Working on the tri-fold card

In the second project we made mini milk cartons.  I have been tempted to buy the Big Shot milk carton template, but found it so easy to just make my own..once I got the measurements, they were really easy to make up.

Christmas ribbon special & milk carton goodies
Anyway, I made some big ones and some small ones. I gave 7 away to my club members, filled with assorted chocolates and sold the rest at the markets.

Baby Showers & Baby Shoes

I have a few friends who have either had babies recently or will be having babies and I came across this website http://www.lovebugscrapbooking.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5043 which has a template and pictures of these cute little baby shoes which you can make to decorate or give as a gift.

Aren't they just adorable. I would have liked to use Stampin' Up designer paper, but couldn't find the right pattern, so I'm using some designer paper which I bought ages ago.

Mini Scrapbook Album

I came across a video on how to make a mini scrapbook using recycled envelopes and thought I'd give it a try. I have a friends whose little boy is turning one and I had some photos which I had taken which I thought would go well in an album, so I set to work. I used Stampin' Up! designer series paper and card stock from the Sunny Day Simply Scrappin' set. I'm so pleased with how it turned out that I'm thinking of my next mini album to create.

Card Making Class

This is a recessed window box, which we'll be making in a class on Tuesday 17 August at 7.30pm. We'll also be making a set of notecards to go into the box using the Pun Fun stamp set. This project was CASEd  from another demonstrator Alison.  If you would like to come along, please email me. For more details go to the Classes tab.

Birthday Card

My Auntie's birthday is this Wednesday, so I made this card for her using the two-step stamping set of Heartfelt Thanks, which is on the Last Chance List and the saying is from Whimsical Words, from the SAB 2010. Just love the Cottage Wall DSP and the Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

Last Chance List

The arrival of the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue in September sees the end of the 2009-2010 catalogue and with that comes the Last Chance List or what used to be known as the retiring list. This is your last chance to buy these wonderful products.

To make room for a whole new batch of fantastic products, Stampin' Up! are retiring a lot of stamp sets, punches, paper and accessories. Some of the last-chance items are discounted and some have already run out of stock - discount prices and availability on application.

Click here to view the full list.

Products on this list are only available for a limited time, until the end of August and stocks may run out before that date, so if there is something on this list that you would really like, now is the time to get it. Contact me with your order today.

Many of the items on the list refer to retiring colours. Some of the products are simply repackages or redesigned - like punches changing to the new punch format.

Orders are now being taken for the new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue, so if you'd like to reserve a copy, contact me today.

Christmas Tri-Fold Card

When looking for projects to make in my Christmas in July Club meeting, I came across a tri-fold card using the Christmas Classics stamp set. So I tried my hand at replicating it.  Not sure where I saw it now, but if I come across the website I will post a link to it.  Anyway here is my take on it.

Club SUM #2

We had 6 members present. Unfortunately, new member, Maria was very sick and didn't want to infect everyone else, and Eileen had to work late and then couldn't find my place :(

Our second workshop/club meeting had a very Christmassy feel to it. We started off by making a combined card and gift card holder. Small and simple, but comes in handy when giving gift voucher cards or "scratchies". We used the Punch Pals stamp set to decorate the card.

For our second project we made a card with the Holiday Lineup stamp set. Steering away from the traditional christmas colours, we used Kraft, Ballet Blue and Soft Suede, with a touch of Real Red.

With lots of Christmas cards and ideas on display, I hope the club members are now in the mood to continue making their cards/gifts so that when December comes around, they aren’t madly thinking what to do and have already got a stack load of Christmas cards prepared to send out.

I had “Snowman Soup” packs ready to give as treats for my club members, but forgot to hand them out at the end of the night, so when their goodies come in,  I am going to include them in their bags, so that they have an additional surprise. Just what you need on a cold winter’s day.

Reminder about Retiring Colours

We have been notified by Stampin' Up! that some of the retiring colours are running low, as there is an increased demand for these colours, so if you like a particular colour/s and you know that they are going to be discontinued, please do not leave it to the last minute to purchase reinkers or card stock as you may miss out.

Remember that you can place your order directly through me, postage will be the same amount to anywhere within Australia, no double handling, Stampin' Up! ships to you straight from the warehouse. I do have a Credit Card Facility available.

Senior Associate

What a surprise I got when I got home on Thursday 17 June. Sitting on my creative desk at home was a big white envelope from Stampin' Up!.

What could it be? A Newsletter? Something about the new catalogue?

I opened up the envelope and to my surprise I saw a certificate as well as a gold Stampin' Up! pin. I had made it to Senior Associate level. What does that mean? It means I have sold over $2,000 worth of products.  Considering I haven't had many workshops, I think it was mainly due to me buying up to start off as a demonstrator and my first Club SUM. In order for me to get the next promotion, I would need to recruit.  Might be a while before that happens.

In with the New, out with the Old

After a great deal of time and research, Stampin Up have revised the colour families and come up with a smart and contemporary new collection.

The changes will only come into effect here in Australia with the next Idea Book and Catalogue release in September 2010. The renovated Stampin Up colour families contain the most popular current colours, some brand new ones and they’re also bringing back the most popular recent InColors!

Here’s the NEW selection, available from September2010:
As well as some new colours, a few existing ones have changed families to bring together the most harmonious ones under the new scheme. And yes, sadly we have to say farewell to some of the current colours.

Here are the colours that will be retiring at the end of August 2010:

Point Clare Markets

On Saturday 8 May 2010, I drove up to Point Clare, with a friend, Maria, to join my other friend, Sue and her sister, Leonie and her husband, Brad, run a card stall at the Fairhaven Markets.

We have combined our efforts and are selling our wares. Most of our cards are made using Stampin' Up products.
It was a lovely day and being the day before Mother's Day, there was a good turnout and we made a few sales out of our Mother's Day products.
The next market day is in August, so look out for it next time your in the area.

It's Official, I'm a Demonstrator!

On 10th March, I joined the Stampin' Up family and became a demonstrator after 2 years of using their products.
